Facial aging can often cause an individual to look tired or worn-out even when they are not. Dr. Aguilar can address some of these characteristics with surgical procedures, such as facelift surgery. He performs this procedure by making an incision along the hairline and behind the ears to easily conceal scarring and stitching. He will remove excess, droopy skin, and if necessary, he can remove excess fat using liposuction ("lipoplasty"). Most of the wrinkles on the skin will vanish, because the skin will be tighter; however, for optimal rejuvenation, combining a chemical peel with a facelift will overall smooth out wrinkles and fine lines. He may also suggest a temporal brow lift ("forehead lift") or an eyelid lift surgery ("blepharoplasty") in conjunction with facelift surgery to correct sagging skin along the upper portion of the face. In cases where the patient has minimal aging, a mid facelift, or "mini facelift," may be more appropriate.
